The Reviews

This has been a good investment for me to learn Photoshop. There are some issues with the instructions in the later lessons so it takes a little digging to get the intended results as the explanations are not always clear.

Awesome book to use while learning Photoshop! Every chapter has multiple tutorials to perform hands on learning of many different aspects of the program! I definitely recommend it

Unlike other reviews, I had no issue downloading the practice image files and bringing them up in Photoshop. They probably didn’t follow the online directions.

This book is perfect for anyone wanting to enhance their skills in photoshop from beginner to pro.

Like step by step exercises.

I paid for and downloaded the Kindle version of this book but cannot figure out how to download the lesson files. I created an account at Pearson/Adobe Press but do not know how to find and provide a voucher code or ISBN. I can find NO instructions how to do this. Very disappointed in this purchase so far.

This book is good for learning fundamental photoshop techniques but I was hoping for something a little more in depth and advanced. Nonetheless there were still a few useful, little tips here and there that I bookmarked. I would absolutely recommend this to a beginner.

Purchased the book, registered it and still cant download the lessons. Waste of money without the necessary lessons.

As I was reading thru some of the reviews, I noticed several "misconceptions". First, Photoshop is an Adobe product created for graphic designers. Lightroom was "born" out of Photoshop, not the other way around. Lightroom was created specifically with photographers in mind as most photographers when editing their photos, do not use/need/want all that Photoshop offers. However, having said that, Lightroom does not offer all that Photoshop has, so it is good to learn Photoshop first as many photographers who use Lightroom need to go to Photoshop to edit something that was not at their disposal in Lightroom.Another misconception: InDesign is the old PageMaker. Adobe purchased the rights to this product and changed its name to InDesign, added many features that are new from the original. My husband purchased PageMaker for me about 25 years ago (prior to Adobe purchasing it). Cost was over $500 then. I loved it, but when I tried to use InDesign, I noticed there are several updates. This is a great program; I used it for creating books, etc. I'm sure there are now many more uses to be had.If you are looking for some great tutorials, go to KelbyOne.com, where Scott Kelby, plus many other instructors have super videos on most anything Adobe... Scott, who is a graphic designer and photographer, says he uses Lightroom for most of his work...because it is easier. BUT often goes to Photoshop because Lightroom won't do everything. Photoshop is awesome and almost always comes thru!!!
