The Reviews

I’ve really enjoyed this book. It is a well-written and refreshing guide to healing trauma with exercises to help you on your journey. Very juicy. I highly recommend this book!

I’ll start by giving some context to reading this book I always felt very afraid of reading books that talked about trauma because I always had that fear like, “oh God I’m scared I don’t want go into a place where I’ve done so much work trying to get out of that I don’t want go back to certain memories and think about certain things,” so I’ve always been very apprehensive to read books that had to do with anxiety or trauma.Gabby’s books have always resonated with me, but not like this one did. When I started the book, I was a little bit anxious, and I’m like OK she’s really going for it the minute I started it. I highly recommend listening to the book so she can guide you through some of the exercises.I have to say that throughout reading this book, I felt so held as Gabby took me through this process. This is the best way I can describe it. It felt like I was talking to one of my friends. It felt like I was on the ocean shore seeing these big waves but having a friend hold my hand as the water began to gently touch my toes. This book helps readers know they’re not alone, and that there’s someone there they’re holding their hand guiding them on the path to move through anxiety, trauma, and tension. As someone who’s lived with PTSD from growing up in a gang-riddled environment and has suffered with debilitating panic attacks this book is a must have.

Once again, Gabrielle Bernstein doesn’t disappoint. The book was infused with love, genuine care and healing energy. There were many useful exercises and important resources to draw from. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is that it was redundant at times, but overall it was a valiant effort to tackle the topics of trauma and grief. I wish I would have also heard more about Gabby’s journey, but I understand that some things may be not relevant.Thank you Gabby.

Great book! Must read for anyone looking to start their healing journey and dive deeper.

I’m a Gabby B fan and have most of her books. This one is a bit “deeper” and really gets into the nitty gritty of our issues;to address, let go and move on to happy!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁

I stumbled upon one of Dear Gabbys Podcasts months ago. I became curious, and she was plugging her latest Book “Happy Days” I was struck by the second title , the word Freedom! So much resonated with me. I was so unaware that trauma lives in your body. The book really pulled me in. I couldn’t put it down. It really opened me up to so much possibility. I signed up for her21 day meditation challenge and have been consistently meditating ever since. Gabriel is a great example that we all can change for the better and heal our wounds. I loved her practical approach, like rage on the page and the other do it yourself technique to peel the onion back and reveal the hurt child and reparenting yourself. Great Book highly recommend. Thank you Gabby. Although I love your work I had so much resistance to this book but the book nagged me to read it and so I finally bought the digital copy. It's taken me months to get through it, going slowly to take it all in and incorporate the teachings. I've experienced multiple break throughs and am beyond grateful for you and your guides. Thank you Gabby, sending love, pride and compassion back at you -Katie

Maybe her best one yet, I love her vulnerability in this book, very well written, with practical advice.
