One of the most inspiring and impactful books ever written, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People has captivated readers for nearly three decades. It has transformed the lives of presidents and CEOs, educators and parents—millions of people of all ages and occupations. Now, this 30th anniversary edition of the timeless classic commemorates the wisdom of the 7 Habits with modern additions from Sean Covey.

The 7 Habits have become famous and are integrated into everyday thinking by millions and millions of people. Why? Because they work!

With Sean Covey’s added takeaways on how the habits can be used in our modern age, the wisdom of the 7 Habits will be refreshed for a new generation of leaders.

They include:
Habit 1: Be Proactive Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind Habit 3: Put First Things First Habit 4: Think Win/Win Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood Habit 6: Synergize Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

This beloved classic presents a principle-centered approach for solving both personal and professional problems. With penetrating insights and practical anecdotes, Stephen R. Covey reveals a step-by-step pathway for living with fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity—principles that give us the security to adapt to change and the wisdom and power to take advantage of the opportunities that change creates.

The Quotes

We began to realize that if we wanted to change the situation, we first had to change ourselves. And to change ourselves effectively, we first had to change our perceptions.

Each of us has many, many maps in our head, which can be divided into two main categories: maps of the way things are, or realities, and maps of the way things should be, or values.

“The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.”

There is no effectiveness without discipline, and there is no discipline without character.

As Emerson once put it, “What you are shouts so loudly in my ears I cannot hear what you say.”

The Reviews

While I’m not religious and the author is, I still think a lot of what he has to say is very eye opening. I read this book at a time that I was going through something very emotional and I cried reading the whole thing; it really pointed out to me how much I have to work on as a person but it explains how to do this. I will refer back to this book every so often to freshen up.

Get. It. Now. Thank yourself later.

Great so far!

Amazing book to transform your life positively!!!!

Not a quick fix, but lots of powerful nuggets in this book that can help anyone create a powerful life, if put into practice.

This book will legitimately change your life. That is, of course, if you are willing to digest its contents and take the time needed to understand your own thoughts and processes at the core level.Truly a fantastic read.

This is a great read for new leaders and managers

good

This is one of those books that no one will borrow. A book that will be read, studied and read again because it is THAT GOOD!

This book has literally been a game changer for me, an eye opener, the one book that made more of a difference in my personal life than any other self-help book I’ve read this summer. The only negative side to it, is that all good things must come to an end. Trying to find another book to live up to Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits, in my opinion, will be difficult. This will definitely be one of those books I will go back to, to brush up on those habits and to “sharpen the saw”.
