Author follows Solomon's advice by studying each proverb in the book of Proverbs in The Bible. It takes a lot of hard work to follow this book...just like it is for any of the rest of the Bible. It isn't an easy read. The first quality the author covers is being Diligent in everything you do. If you want to be the best You you can be, this book is for you. Otherwise skip it. You will be needing to change at least one habit that you come across because of this study that you will see is causing a lot of the problems you are having in your life...marriage? parenting? job occupation? It's all in here. Bet you won't do it! Everyone can read this book and be enriched; not all will. Will you?
Though I just started reading this book, it has already helped me in a critical area of my thought life. For some reason, since becoming a Christian in 1994, I just felt wrong about achieving great success. I know it's not taught in the bible, and actually through Steven K. Scott's book, I can see that God DOES desire us to be successful as long as we remember "every good gift comes from above from the Father of Lights- (God)" and as long as the desire doesn't enslave us.An added bonus is because it is wisdom from God (through King Solomon), I can rely on it to be true and worthy of putting my full weight on it. So I am!Thank you Steven Scott for writing this book, Thank you Gary Smalley for suggesting proverbs to Steven and Thank you mostly to God for giving us this wisdom!I haven't had a vision in so long, I feel so energized to just to have one!
Really powerful book containing wisdom that has withstood the test of time. Not only has everything been written in understandable, down-to-earh language, the teachings of the Proverbs are actually fun to read.Regardless of your religious believes, this book teaches you without judgement. After completing the book, make a summary for yourself and look at it - preferrably every day - so you will breathe knowledge. And when it's in your system, aim for wisdom.It's too short to tell whether it has changed my life so far, but it has at least enriched it.
This book should be titled "Life" perfect for anyone regardless of what they are needing as far as how to proceed in life, jobs , family, etc. A good read and I am usually not 5 stars on any book !. Not filled with personal accounts of this and that. This comes from the bible put in simple form.
Though Mr. Scott's interpretation of Proverbs may be questioned by some theologians, he has masterfully captured Solomon's wisdom. Beyond that, he has done an excellent job of making this a practical workbook that allows you to begin to master and use the wisdom. It just amazes me that such wisdom has existed for millenniums and how practical the book of Proverbs is thousands of years later. This book will show you how to create a step by step plan to create the future you want, how to deal with criticism, how to seek out and garner the wisdom of others, how to resolve conflict and how to surround yourself with good counsel plus much more.

This book is so practical and informative I loved reading it. I learned a lot from reading this book and I am glad that I bought it. It covers so many areas that we all need to work on. It really taught me to examine myself and fix some things in my life that I wasn't doing right. I plan to re read it and take notes this time. This book is not some get rich quick scheme if the title scares you. It is biblical based and practical for everyday life.
